Winter wedding ideas

‘Tis the season for candlelit tables, snowflakes and open fires. Winter weddings are the definition of cosy and here are some great tips to create the perfect, chic, winter wedding.

After spending my day researching winter weddings, I have without doubt come to the conclusion that they are by far the most magical, romantic and budget friendly. The smallest of details can create such elegant yet effective results, from having a ‘make your own cocoa’ stand to wrapping cinnamon sticks around your candles to create a rustic, seasonal scent in your chosen venue.

Embracing the cold weather will make your wedding 10 times better. Adding cosy blankets to the seats and giving your guests sparklers for when it gets dark will add a fun family atmosphere. The traditional English weather definitely gives you a chance to be creative with all aspects of your wedding including the photography. If you’re really lucky it might even snow and who else gets a backdrop like that for free on their wedding day?

Using natural woodland materials such as pine cones alongside lanterns and winter florals or berries for your table decorations is a great way to tie together that winter feeling. You could also add touches like these to line your aisle.

A wedding dress in winter might not be a great idea but a dress with accessories is always beautiful. Don’t be scared to play around with accessories, whether it’s adding snow embellishment to your dress or a faux fur shawl. Incorporating that added winter sparkle or bold colouring to your gown against your natural/white background can work wonders.
